What is the status of DECwindows working with DFS (Digital File Service). From a terminal session under DECwindows I can: $ dir brk_dir:[000000]*.* ! Brk_dir is my access point to the Server. When I go into FileView and specify the same Dircctory I get a Warning message: "The Default directory is not a valid VMS directory specification. There is an unrecognized character". What am I doing wrong. Thanks, Steve Also posted in the DNT notes file.

What does brk_dir translate to? Have you tried using that in place of the "brk_dir" string? | |||||

RE: < Note 160.0 by BREAKR::UDICK "See ya in the NOTES files" > The error message that you're getting is from specifying the directory wrong in FileView's "Directory" SText widget. The error message is a FileView message, not a DFS (*Distributed* File Services) one. Try "brk_dir:[000000]". That should work. -ric. |
