We're having problems with DECwindows Ultrix on a VS II/GPX. We've been creating and crashing DECterms for testing. After a while, it becomes impossible to create new emulators, either in that session or if you quit the session and start from scratch. The emulators exit before they appear, or they appear and don't accept focus and don't come up with a prompt. It also can happen when you save the setup creating 2 or more emulators at startup. We have SDC DECwindows for Ultrix. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Checking with ps -aux shows that somethings there are runaway processes, but sometimes not. -Walt

146.1 | Could be swap space | WATCH::SMITH | Dave - Networks & Technologies | Wed Feb 08 1989 15:30 | 9 |
The problem may very well be not enough swap space. If you just installed the kit and took the defaults, you probably don't have enough. Do a pstat -s and check out conversations about this in NAC::ULTRIX. You can add more by utilizing space on another disk (like I did) or by changing the partitions on your disk. Dave |
