138.0. "Problem with DECterm on T5.2" by MOVIES::GROSSMITH (Mike - VMS Devo/Europe) Tue Feb 07 1989 04:52
Having recently upgraded to T5.2, all satellites are seeing the following
problem.
The session manager is set up to create two DECterms at session startup. After
the session manager window is created, there is a long pause (20-30 secs),
followed by an error message window, and ONE DECterm. The error message is:
"Error creating DECterm Remote node is unknown"
Once the session is running, further DECterms can be created with no problems.
It is almost as though DECwindows is trying to start a DECterm, before
everything is fully initialized.
Any pointers as to where to look would be appreciated.
/Mike

This started with T5.2. I am currently looking into the
problem. There are a couple of QARs filed already. For now, the
only workaround is to not start more than one DECterm from the session
manager when you log in.
