| You can help yourself by reading notes in this conference.
Sounds like you should look for info on the CHILD utility.

| Conference HANNAH::DECTERM has information on creating DECterms.
Both remote and local. Or, as Andy (.-1) mentions, look around
for references to CHILD.

134.4 | It is automatic | DECWIN::KLEIN | | Tue Feb 07 1989 10:10 | 15 |

FileView, when it detects that you are trying to write to SYS$OUTPUT,
automatically creates a terminal emulator for you and attaches you
process to that terminal emulator window.
So, you don't have to do anything. Just start Allin1 from your menu item
and it will pop up in a TE window.

134.5 | Remote invocation not so clean | DECWIN::KLEIN | | Tue Feb 07 1989 10:19 | 15 |
| If part of your question was how to invoke Allin1 remotely, there seem to be
two choices. You could run FileView remotely and run Allin1 on the same node
as FileView, or you could spawn Allin1 remotely (in which case you would
have to create your own terminal emulator with CHILD, as described in the
earlier replies).
Starting FileView remotely involves either submitting a remote batch job
which defines DECW$DISPLAY back to your workstation and then runs
SYS$SYSTEM:VUE$MASTER, or setting host and doing the same.
If all you're going to do is run Allin1 on the remote machine, then the
CHILD approach seems better.

I added the DECTERM conference mentioned in .3 but I get "no such file" when I
try to open it.
Wrong node? Wrong filename?

Try HANNAH::DECW$DISK:[PUBLIC]DECTERM.
Also, Note 2.* is the place to look for related conferences.
