    window the mouse was on into being the one with input focus?

    OK. But I neither have "C" nor the DECWINDOWS proghramming libraries
    installed. Can you point me at a .EXE that'll run on X5.2-40A?

    You can copy the executable, which runs on VMS V5.1, from:
    
    	tbd1::$disk1:[burleigh.hacks]autofocus.exe
    
    I execute it from sys$login:decw$login.com as:
    
    $ RUN/DET/OUT=NL:/ERR=NL:/PROC=AUTOFOCUS $DISK1:[BURLEIGH.HACKS]AUTOFOCUS
