What is limiting me from starting Applications from FileView? Right now I only have: 2 DECterms, and FileView. From FileView I started Calendar, Mail, Notepad and Calculator, but Notepad and Calculator are PENDING. I have upped my pgflquo to 20000 and my maxjobs, maxacctjobs, maxdetach are all 0. I am running VMS V5.1 on a VAXstation II/GPX w/ 8 meg, 2 RD54s. What should I do to be able to run more apps from FileView? Thanks Bruce

Raise BYTLM up to 50,000 - 60,000. As well, give more PGFLQUO, something like 40,000. Pierre.

There is a section that talks about process quotas needed to run FileView.

The first time FileView couldn't start a sub-process, it should have given you a message box saying so, and indicating which quota was exhausted. Let us know if you didn't see this. (On subsequent failures, if it was the same quota that was exceeded, the task is marked "pending" and the Work in Progress box pops up, but the message box does not appear.) Tom |
