69.0. "Forcing menus to remain on-screen..." by WSE159::HOLT (Ultrix Apps Gp @ UCS) Mon Jan 30 1989 21:24
A vendor porting from Sunview to DW wants to know how to
cope with pullrights/pulldowns that propagate offscreen.
Sunview allegedly forces the menus back on to the screen
when they run off. This vendor would like to see this behavior
under DW as well.
Has anyone else found the need to implement a "pull left" or "pull
up" type menu? I imagine that one could utilize t pulling_callback
to look at the event, compare x and y of the menu button to the
screen coordinates and push the window back on with an XMoveWindow
call.
I'm open to suggestions of a better way. This way sounds better than
inserting code into the AppMainLoop, however...
A resource indicating a pull direction for the pulldown menu
entry would be a nice enhancement.
