44.0. "DECW$NOTES for V5.1 SDC ?" by ZUR01::GERSBACH (Edwin Gersbach TSSC Zrich) Fri Jan 27 1989 10:14

    As the old conference is (partially) lost, can anybody tell me
    where to find DECW NOTES for the SDC version? The lastet info I
    have is ABEL::USER3:[DAVIDSON._EXE]NOTES$DWSHARE.EXE but this one
    does not run on 5.1 SDC.

    Thanks in advance
        			Edwin

    Sorry to disagree. I just copied the saveset from CLT::NOTES$KIT, and
    tried to install it. It doesn't want to work on SDC 5.1. It says -

  Wrong interface/section file - section file must be rebuilt

44.3No problem here with notes...RWCVAX::COULSONRoger Coulson DTN 223-6158Mon Jan 30 1989 15:4111
    re:.2

    I am running the notes kit from CLT::notes$kit:. I can run it both in
    character cell mode and in DECwindows mode. The file is called
    notes020.a and is dated 15-Jan-1989 11:20. You must also have the
    license loaded. Are you running VMS V5.1 and DECwindows V5.1 as sent
    to SDC or are you running a field test version?

44.4Section file incompatible with latest TPUIAGO::SCHOELLERWho's on first?Mon Jan 30 1989 16:2511
The error in .2 is with the character cell interface. If this is you first
time using V2.0-FT of notes, then you have to rebuild your section file. This
is independent of whether you are using the version compatible with DECwindows
SDC or DECwindows FT2.1.

If you do not have a personal NOTE$SECTION you might want to check whether
there is a copy SYS$SPECIFIC:[SYSLIB]. This would override the newly
installed copy in SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB].

    Yep, it was the NOTES$SECTION in SYS$SPECIFIC:[SYSLIB]. It works fine,
    now.

    Thanks,
