12.0. "Unsupported applications announcements" by DECWIN::FISHER (Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23) Thu Jan 26 1989 12:11

    This topic is to be used to provide pointers to unsupported
    DECwindows application kits. I suggest that you start a topic
    about your applications where questions can be entered. Then
    enter a reply here with a pointer to the topic where discussion
    can take place, as well as a pointer to the kit itself. (Yes, I know
    that you could use keywords like "UNSUPPORTED APPLICATION", but no
    one ever remembers to look there.

    In any case DON'T ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE APPLICATIONS HERE. Otherwise
    it will just get too long and no one will read it. Just announcements
    please.

    Burns

12.1CHILD utilityPRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaThu Feb 02 1989 15:1511
The CHILD utility is discussed in topic 111, please address CHILD
questions there.

CHILD is available from the toolshed on METOO. Often a newer
version is available from PRNSYS::RELEASED_TOOLS:[CHILD]. (For the
moment they are the same, release 12.)

CHILD is a utility for creating terminal emulators, subprocesses, and
detached processes from command files, such as DECW$LOGIN.COM

12.2VWSLAT utilityQUARK::LIONELAd AstraThu Feb 02 1989 19:0712
    The VWSLAT application is discussed in VSG::VWSLAT. VWSLAT is
    program that allows you to make LAT connections from your workstation
    to LAT services. Despite its name, it supports both VWS and
    DECwindows. (I'm just reporting this here as a public service -
    I have no connection with VWSLAT other than as a satisfied user.)

    It is important to note that, at present, you cannot have LAT service
    enabled on your node at the same time as using VWSLAT (can't have
    outbound and inbound service simultaneously.)

12.3VWSLAT is in topic 70PRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaFri Feb 03 1989 10:546
DECWindiws specific issues about VWSLAT are discussed in topic 70 of
this conference. Also in topic 70 is an occasional mention of VWSSSU,
which uses the VMS SSU protocol over serial lines to get multiple
sessions on a remote host using an ordinary terminal line.

12.4Let's use keywords!CIM::KAIRYSMichael KairysFri Feb 03 1989 12:423
    I have taken the liberty of creating the keywords CHILD and VWSLAT
    and adding them to notes 111 and 70, respectively.

Would someone post a pointer to a DISKMAP.EXE that runs on SDC 5.1?

I didn't install BLISS support and can't compile a new version of the source
at SMAUG::DAVES_BITSHOP:

	Use DECPATCH to fix it? I think there is a copy of DECWPATCH in
	LESLIE::DECW$TOOLS:??

To the best of my knowledge, SMAUG::DAVES_BITSHOP:DISKMAP.EXE does
run on V5.1.

Make sure you get the 10-JAN-1989 version.

Let me know by MAIL if it doesn't work for you... it works for
me, but I'm running T5.2.

12.8SolitairesVIA::PRINCIPIONuke the site from orbit.Tue Mar 07 1989 17:566
    Solitaires is a further enhancement to David Burleigh's solitaire game.
    This version includes five separate solitaire games, online help and a
    hint region.

    Solitaires is discussed in note 346.
