| Felix,
the dump file is a printout of the server context block (ie the internals of
the VTX server) at the time of the crash. The PC addresses are the locations
of functions in the server code. These are matched against the map file that
was created at link time.
the problem here is that the customer is running a pre V6.0 of the VTX server.
V6.2 and V6.0-1 are the only versions for which the linker map file is
available. So, dump files for earlier versions don't give us much information.
I can tell that their server is not a V6.2 because that version produces a
dump file with much more information that the one in .0. All that that tells
me is that there is a forward server (SCB_FORW_REMOTE is TRUE) and that the
server has just got a message but hasn't signalled that is no longer needs one
(SCB_NEED_MSG is TRUE).
So, my advice is to ask the customer to upgrade to V6.2: many bug-fixes have
been made since V5 days and it is possible that their problem may already have
been fixed. If their problem has not been fixed the new dump files will give a
lot more information as to what was happening at the time of the crash.
regards,
-ronan
