which I left in Lauriat's the last time I was in there.
I'll let you know when I retrieve it.

It's open through the monday of Columbus day, I believe.
The regular admission price is $12, but discount ($9) tickets
are available through Personnel (or whoever is handling activities
type things now). Also, McDonald's has coupons good for $1-2 off
of admission price. ($2 on Saturdays, and $1 on Sundays, I think)

the people I've been trying to talk into playing hooky on Monday the
14th and going down will bite first, but put me down as a definate
maybe! ;-)

| We (hubby & I) have made plans to go this Oct 5th. I
have coupons good for $2 off a ticket that I got from
McD's. Since we only live about a town away, I think
it's about time we tried KRF out!

| Take plenty of money with you! The prices are alittle high on some
things.
You can only get tickets for food and they won't sell less then 5
dollers worth.
But it is nice to see at least onces....
Cheers

1050.16 | WARNING! Food costs are too high!! | ELWOOD::CHRISTIE | | Thu Oct 03 1991 15:29 | 11 |
| It is cheaper and easier to pack a cooler with food and beverage due
to the high cost of food at the faire. There are LOTS of booths
selling different items from candles to rental costumes. The
jousting exhibition is great. Beware of the beggars. They have to
be paid to leave you alone.
It's a fun place to go at least once. Must see the gypsy dancing
and the mud eating beggars.

| Be advised: the people running King Richard's Faire will _not_ let you onto
the grounds witha cooler. Of course you can leave the coller in your car and
go out for a picnic at lunchtime, but you cannot bring one in and sit in
amongst the action.

1050.18 | well are we really going to go? | WMOIS::REINKE_B | all I need is the air.... | Tue Oct 08 1991 17:36 | 19 |
| Well so far the following people have said they are interested in
going to the Faire:
Me
Eileen Dunne
Jim Campbell
Heather Allison
Alison Waskom
Ann Broomhead and Tim
Since I've never been there before, I'll need some suggestions as to
1. What time and where shall we meet
2. How do I get there?
I checked here in WMO and there are no discount tickets available
for the day we picked (the 13th) :-(.

take 495 South to exit 2, Carver MA.
At the end of the ramp, take a left, and follow route 58 (which will
take a left at one point, but there's a sign clarifying that 58 turns
there). There are "edaville railroad" signs (a picture of a train),
and signs with a crown on them with "FAIRE" written over it. Follow
them too! The Faire is just a bit beyond Edaville Railroad off rte 58.
Shortly after you pass a pair of white lions guarding a driveway,
there will be a banner proclaiming you have arrived - the entrance is
on the left.
huzzah!

1050.20 | It was fun...I want to go dresses up next time... | BOOVX2::MANDILE | Lynne a.k.a. HRH | Wed Oct 09 1991 10:59 | 8 |
| BUT, before you get there, take exit 4 off 495S, left off
ramp to the McDonald's on your right. They have $1/$2 discount
coupons available for KRF. It costs $12 per adult to get in. (yikes!)
It is open 11:00 am til 6:00 pm. Sit on the right side of
the jousting ring (the right side as in as you come toward the
ring....this is the "bad guy" side and it's a lot more fun
for the crowd! (-8 )

| I live just off 495, south of the Mass Pike. It might be convenient to
gather at my place and go from there. I'm probably about an hour from
the Faire itself, so I'd suggest meeting between 10 and 10:30 am. Or
we might want to meet up at either the Burger King or MacDonald's at
the 495/Rte 109 interchange.
Directions to my house by mail to those requesting them.

interchange, (at exit 4)? I can try and be there by 10 am,
and will plan to leave by 10.30.

1050.27 | | IAMOK::WASKOM | | Wed Oct 09 1991 18:06 | 8 |
| 495/109 isn't exit 4. It's three exits south of the Mass Pike, and
about 1.5 miles south of the Rte 85 exit. The McDonalds is West of the
interchange, visible from the ramp - you'll be turning right if you
were southbound on 495.
I'll be there at 10.

| Well 6 people managed to meet and find each other at the Faire inspite
of sitting for a half an hour at two different MacDonalds!
Present were Eileen Dunne, Alison Waskom, Ann Broomhead and Tim,
Jim Campbell and myself.
Most of us managed to find and greet Jody in her booth.
The Faire is really a wonderful place, and a lot of fun, but, as
other people have said, you need a *lot* of money.
