| Mary Maling is having lunch with the kidnapper today...and she has the
ransom with her.
I suspect that around 1 this afternoon she will be Hero of the Day!

| Joyce, ya beat me. Having seen the ransom offering and been "in" on the
plans, I also feel that Mary will be the Hero of the Day also. I just
hope the kidnapper realizes that the portion of the ransom that
contains her pics. must also be included. Hell, I'm letting the few
shots I'm in go in. YYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYY Mary and E, we still love ya.

1020.20 | Re: .19 | CSC32::J_CHRISTIE | Watch your peace & cues | Wed Sep 18 1991 17:17 | 7 |
| A hero to me is not someone who accomplishes a single outstanding
heroic deed. A hero to me is someone who is consistently courageous and
compassionate, someone who sustains through the struggle of 'the long haul.'
These persons I've nominated are genuinely heroes.

standing-down the tactical nukes is in that category.
now, if I could only believe that the intercontinental ballistics still had
some long-term use, and that we are right to keep them! (We end up with more
of them, after the START treaty effect, than we had when we started negotiating
START.)

| Debbi Jancaitis for the strength that she is showing to console me
electronically through mail and notes while she has her own troubles
and sorrow right now.
And I don't care about the one per day rule. All the members of the
file who do this and tyake the time to care about others while they
have their own problems, some of which make mine and others look minor
by comparison. A kind word, a hug, some personal experience related
that might help the person in need and all the while you have much need
yourselves.
I have never met so many folks like this as I have in here. You are all
special heroes in my book and always will be. Each and every day.
Love and Hugs to you all,
PJ
