Well, I made it through my first year of first time motherhood!!!
It wasn't easy but then again nothing is.
I'm PROUD because I feel that I've done a heck of a job raising my
daughter so far while juggling a career!
(With the help of her dad of course!)
Cheers to all you working moms, for juggling careers and rasing kids!!!!

| I don't really have any milestones and accomplishments to post in 6.
I'm proud that I am a strong woman, that I think for myself and seek my
own path, while trying not to force anyone else's steps. I'm proud
that I've made it this far with as much of my integrity in one piece as
I have. I'm proud that I have often had the sense to resist easy
answers. I'm proud for what I have, earned by my own efforts, and by
my husband's and my joint efforts.
I'm proud of my kids, but that's different! :-)

I'm proud to be a woman in these difficult times. I'm proud to be a
member of this and other notefiles where the exchange of ideas is
constant and exhilirating. It keeps me on my toes, mentally, while I
am relagated to a less than thrilling job. I'm proud of the way I have
made it through the past eight months. Between the breakup of a long-
term relationship, the uncertanties in the company, the change of jobs
(see previous sentence!), and one of my best friends moving across the
country--all within 6 weeks of each other, I think that I have survived
rather well!
In fact, with all the caring and sharing that one sees in this file, I
have been inspired to be even more giving than I used to be. Just this
past Saturday I was out with some friends, who had along a friend of
their's who was visiting home before going back to college in Maine. I
could see that she was upset about something, so we talked for a while
and I reassured her that "yes, things will get better and that you need
to take things one day at a time". I also told her that people were
here to help each other and that when it came right down to it, we are
all sisters (and brothers). And then...I gave her the best therapy, a
couple of genuine, loving, caring *hugs*, a-la E Grace! It was just
what she needed, as a little bit later in the evening she thanked me
for helping her to feel better, and in the process--I made a new
friend! A precious gift from the god/goddess! Thanks to E Grace and
all of you for helping me to get through my tough times enough to help
someone else along the way. Certainly something we can *all* be proud
of!!!
Hugs to all (E Grace can't hold them *all*!!!)

I'm proud of my uniqueness.
I'm proud of my courage to express my convictions, that I do
not compromise my integrity, that I sleep in peace.
I'm proud that I never went to college, am now a tech editor,
and can write better than most college graduates I know.
I'm proud of my inner fuel.
I'm proud of my creativity, and my talents, and my fire.
I'm proud of my path. No matter where it takes me, I learn.
I'm proud to be a woman. To have access to the special energy
that is unique to women.

I am proud because I am striving to be utterly authentic.
100% of the time.
Without compromise.
I am proud because I am learning to risk, and that risking often means
growth and learning, even if it may not mean winning all the time.
I am proud because I walk through the fear.

Sounds to me like you're winning in the long run. I love reading
notes like that. Your courage is inspiring.

| I'm proud because we women are all stronger, more honest, braver, and less
willing to "sell ourselves to the highest bidder regardless of personal
ethics" than women of generations past might have been allowed to be.
I'm also proud because women all around me are learning that it isn't "good"
to "have a man" if you don't have an honest relationship that benefits both
the man and the woman...there's no stigma in being alone if that is the best
offer you get. I'm proud that we women are finally finding our own sense
of self, humor, and compassion for one another and for the men we know as
lovers, friends, brothers, fathers, and MOST importantly, as our equals.
I'm proud that my mother, who raised me to stand on my own while she was
afraid to try it herself, has stepped out into the world and is fearlessly,
joyously LIVING her life since my father died. She has grown stronger
rather than being weakened, by her loss. She has shown herself what I've
always known, that she is one H*ll of a fighter and a fearless feminist
in the best sense of the word, a woman who is supportive of women.
I'm also proud that I can still learn a new programming language and acquire
new job skills -- the gray cells up there are still cooking.

| I am proud to be a woman.
I am proud that I possess an inner strength that far surpasses any
kind of physical strength.
I am proud to have grown from secretary to Information Systems
Specialist within the past five years.
I am proud to have had the intelligence to know when a marriage would
not work, and to have had the courage to move on, twice. And now I have
discovered that I am comfortable with, and really like who I am.
I'm proud of my mother, who is becoming her own person, who is growing
every day.
