| Hi,
As I will not be able to do this IN PERSON, please give Barbara
lots of hugs from Irene (who doesn't ever get to go to Salt Lake much
anymore...),

| Barb sent me a letter, and here are some excerpts (with her permission)
AT the moment, I'm still working at Career Pro doing career counseling,
and writing resumes. My weekly base salary amounts to $4.38 per hour
with virtually n o commissions, but they have offered me a leashold on
the office, so things might get better. What that means is that for a
weekly fee to the corporate office, I will, forall intents and purposes
own this business. If I can negotioate the fee down to something more
reasonable, I'll go for it. I *know* I can build the business up to
something decent with a living wage that could actually support the
kids (what an idea!). I should know by sometime next week if it's
going to fly, so ship good thoughts my way. Speaking of resumes...
I get some *real* interesting clients in here. Thus far, I've done
resumes for clients ranging from a janitor to a woman minister
"awaiting a call". I did one for a snowboarder seeking a sponsor, a
ballet dancer who does commercials, a letter to potential birth mothers
from a couple who wants to adopt, an actor who has been hired by the
Utah Opera Company to sign the opera for the deaf. It's been
interesting and sometimes fun. I am my own boss and am able to come
and go as I please although I am usually here from 8:15 to 5:00+
depending upon clients arriving on time for their appointments.
......
Also, if you find the time to note, please send my love and thoughts to
all my friends in =wn=. I miss "talking" to them via the net. You are
welcome to put anything from my letters in the file. You may want to
tell everyone that I participated in a Pro-choice picket against
President Bush when he was in Salt Lake. (it was my very first protest
:) ) Must be a late bloomer or something. Anyhow, I met a freelance
journalist who does articles on contraception for a medical newsletter.
She just moved to Utah from Atlanta with her husband who is doing a
psychology residency at Primary Children's Hospital. Theresa has no
woman friends here, so we got together for a walkk and lunch last
Saturday. It was so refreshing to have another woman with whom I could
spend time! There just don't seem to be too many around here who
aren't involved.
Mega Hugs,
Barb
