When I lived in New York, I noticed that New Yorkers _never_ go see the
fabulous sights of the city. If they're lucky, they went on a class
trip to the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty, but they've
never been to (for example) the Stock Exchange, or South Street
    Seaport.

Is the same thing happening here with the Freedom Trail?

Well, _I've_ never done the Freedom Trail properly. On a Sunday, it
ought to be pretty traffic-free. (I tried doing it twice, at least
five years ago, but never got past Quincy Market:-)).

Well, I have done it before, but long before I lived in the area. I
would love to walk it again, however, so count me in.

I just did this on Sat. The Boston Historical Center is at 15 State St.
(a few minutes walk from the Green Line Government Center T stop) and
they have guided tours that goes along part of the Freedom Trail every
1/2 hour. The guided tours go from State St. by the Old State House to
the Old NOrth Church in the North End. The tour lasts 90 minutes but
doesn't stop at any of the sites long enough for you to go in and
browse. But if you stop some where to look around you can catch the
next tour that comes by that site.

The Freedom TRail itself goes from the Boston Common to The Charleston
Navy Yard (where the USS Constitution is located). I'd highly recommend
the guided tours. The park ranger who led the one I was on was great
and really enthusiastic about leading it. And you end up in the NOrth
End so you can gobble down some Italian food when you're done!

You didn't think you could get off that easy, did you?

>I would like to do this?

We can't answer this *for* you, E. Look inside yourself, ask yourself
this question, and ultimately, you must decide your own desires and actions.
Go with your feelings, E, let go!

E this is one of the activities I thought we might do after the Brunch.

I am familiar with the city and although not of the caliber of the paid
guides I can handle a tour and give a lot of good info.
