760.0. "News of old friends" by COGITO::SULLIVAN (Singing for our lives) Thu Apr 04 1991 13:43

I just got Mail from Catherine T. Iannuzzo (of great Womannotes fame).
She asked me to post a hello from her, and I couldn't think of where to
put it, so I thought I'd create a basenote for us to post hellos or
news about Womannoters from the past.

Do please be careful not to post anything like a recruitment for jobs
at other companies -- that is not the purpose of this file. I think it
is fine for us to hear news from and info about how to reach folks outside
    Digital, though.

Dear Womannoters,

It's been a long time! I'm happy to announce that I am finally on
the Internet and can be reached via DECWRL::"[email protected]". As you
might guess from the address, I am now working for Banyan Systems.
Graduate school is going well and is keeping me extremely busy.
There is life after DEC, but I do have days when I miss you all.

Stay strong and beautiful,

Catherine T. Iannuzzo,
womannoter emeritus

I don't note in this file very often, but lately I have been doing
a bit of reading in here. A couple of years ago I entered a reply
to a note, and it was questioned whether my reply had relevance to
the note string. There really was a feeling of 'unwelcomeness' about
the response. Catherine sent me a vaxmail telling me how much she
enjoyed reading the entry, and that it was meaningful for her.
    I really appreciated that!

    Oh! Double-neat-O!

Catherine works for the same company as my husband, so I'll have
    him look her up.

And...I live about a mile from Old Sturbridge Village, so I can
easily stop in and see Pat in person.

By the way, we will definitely do something to honor Maggie and her
leadership and inspiration to this file. I've been holding off in the
hope that there would be some kind of reversal, but if that doesn't
happen (and I guess it's looking gloomy for that), we will have a
    proper goodbye/thank you bash.

Anyone heard from Steve Mallett lately? I haven't talked to him in about
6 months and I keep thinking someone oughta call him up and tell him when
various =wn= gatherings are, but I never think of it until it's past!

I sent Steve a snail mail a few weeks ago but heard nary a word back.
If he's like me he'll answer it next January ;-). And hey, whatever
happened to Roberta Piket? Has anyone contacted her about the 5th
anniversary upcoming?

760.135th Annivesary and Renunion?TLE::DBANG::carrollget used to it!Fri Apr 19 1991 14:236
Ya know, this 5th anniversary thing also seems like a prime opportunity for
a sort of =wn= reunion. Perhaps we (as a community) can make sure that all
the "old friends" are invited to/informed of the get-together. Maybe we
can even mention people in this note we think someone should tell?

Like kath, I talk to STeve on the phone occasionally. We have a deal
that I can 'harass' him with a phone call every 3 months. I do tell
him about =wn= parties most of the time. He does know about the
    5th anniversary party.

He's really busy setting up the permits, forms, etc...now he has a
building permit to do the whole studio thang.

He got your letter, Doug. He enjoyed it ;).

I tell him when we're doing stuff, but it can't possibly hurt if other
people do to (peer pressure, ya know ;).....

Does anyone else here, who knew Steve Mallett, get Newsweek? I swear
there is a picture of him or his clone in the article this week
    on men's groups.
