A couple of notes about the women of the Spitbrook Minstrels
performance...
Pam Gilpatrick's name was left off the list of performers. She handles
logistics and publicity for the group as well and can be reached at
broke::gilpatrick if anyone needs information about the group.
The performance will be repeated at ZKO (Spitbrook) later in March.
Watch this space for details!
I do a lot of work on the programming and arranging along with a couple
of other members of the group. This program specifically celebrates
women's lives, and includes songs celebrating mothers, lesbians,
working women, Black women, and topical songs about issues of concern
to women today.
We drew upon songs by Cris Williamson, Ferron, Molly Scott, and Judy
Small (among others!) in planning this program. The style is upbeat
folk/acoustic.
See you there!

Send me mail if you'd like more information about any of the songs.
They are copyrighted, so I can't post them, but I could share my
personal copies that I made to help me learn the words.
(I wish I could post Erica Levine here! I've been dying to share that
song with DEC people ever since I first heard it.)
And you can always come to the performance at ZKO on March 27th in
Babbage Auditorium. I'm trying to make arrangements to have that
concert professionally recorded by a DECcie who is also a sound
engineer so that people who didn't hear it in person can hear it.
The poets *will* be joining us, and we will be weaving the songs and
poems together instead of having two separate parts to the show.
(Song List)
1. Mothers, Daughters, Wives - Judy Small
2. Harriet Tubman - Walter Robinson/John McCutcheon
3. Lullabye - Cris Williamson
4. Testimony - Ferron
5. Erica Levine - Bob Blue
6. Annie - Fred Small
7. Sister - Cris Williamson
8. Bread and Roses -
9. We Are All One Planet - Molly Scott
(Encore/singalong) We are Gentle Angry People
We had to cut #9 at MRO, but will be including it at ZKO.
The order will be changing at zko as well to accommodate the poetry.

Even though I didn't get to Marlboro to hear the concert, 2 things make
me happy. 1: I've arranged to take the 27th off so I can be at Spit
Brook for the appearance there. Finally, I get to meet E Grace.
2: I've passed along the info on the concert to our own valuing
differences committee and maybe we can you all up here to NQO/DDD in
North Nashua to perform. I hope, I hope, I hope. Their gonna look into
it.

We've put together a wonderful combination of women's music and poetry
on the theme of celebrating women's lives.

that's ZKO 1. Babbage is right inside the front door to your right.
Hope to see you there.

Ginny Lockhart also sent us a list of books, articles, video tapes,

was in 132-column format, I took out the Publisher column to have it
fit in a standard format note.
If anyone wants a copy of the original (with instructions on how to
