672.0. "Mini-Pill" by YUPPY::DAVIESA (Passion and Direction) Fri Jan 25 1991 08:21

    Would you please share here your opinion of the "Mini-Pill".

    I don't know if you use this name in the U.S. - it's the progesterone-
    only pill that you take all month long (no breaks), and it supposedly
    carries less risk of thrombosis and is safer for "older wmn" than
    the combined Pill.

    Apparently it can also cause extremely irregular periods, and you can
    have real problems if you don't take it at exactly the same time
    each day.

    Have you tried it?
    What did you think?

	Well, I've been taking the pill 20 years now, no ill effects.

	My doctor says it's still OKay to keep taking them.

	I've had consultancy on this which agrees with my doctor.

	They think I aught to stop in a couple of years, but they don't think
	going to a "mini pill" will have any advantages.

	I hope to - finally - get steralised before the two years are up.

	I have been reading notes about cramps and chills and........

	I've never had this.........since I started taking the pill.
