554.0. "Any Walking Encyclopedias Out There?" by BUFFER::WARREN () Tue Nov 27 1990 01:53

    Does anyone have any statistics on the percentage of the work force
    that is, or will be at some arbitrary future date, made up of women
    and/or minorities? I _know_ I have read stats along these lines
    several times recently, but I'll be darned if I can remember where.

    This is for a paper for a class I'm taking which is due er...
    <mumble on> tonight.

    You might want to try topic 938 in womannotes-V2. There's some stats
    there although they're kind of old....(1982ish)

    By the turn of the (eek!) millenium, women plus minorities will
    make up the majority of the American workforce. This is mentioned
    in the special "Time" issue on women.

    It was also mentioned in some Digital publication or other...Why
    don't you try to locate the Digital statisticians and ask them?

  I believe the correct Digital buzz-phrase is "Workforce 2000"...
