439.0. "it shouldn't be a total loss..." by BTOVT::THIGPEN_S (who, me?) Fri Oct 12 1990 18:06
I don't think she was the stereotypical Jewish Mother, but my mom has
given me certain little ways of looking at things. The one I have in
mind right now is
"It shouldn't be a total loss..."
This usually but not always expresses something humorous. It can be
sarcastic, political, serious, disparaging, etc.
Anyhow the one I come to today is
So! I've been sick for three weeks, the doc sez it's not one flu that
keeps coming back, but three seperate illnesses! What fun! But it
shouldn't be a total loss,
I've lost five pounds :'}
anybody got any to add?

I have a very dear friend who's 4'11" tall. She weighs 180lbs. While
she's cooking for her family she'll pick and pick until the meatloaf
looks like a meatball. But.........It shouldn't be a total lose. She's
drinking Diet Pepsi.
