413.0. "Seraphene??" by DECXPS::COMPANION () Tue Oct 02 1990 09:06

       My doctor just started me on Seraphene for my infertility problem.
    Has anyone heard about it or used it? Results? Any info is welcome.

    Thanks, Debbie

413.1Seraphene is a brand nameAIADM::GIUNTATue Oct 02 1990 09:2518
If I remember correctly, Seraphene is a brand name for Clomid ( I forget the
technical name for Clomid). Basically, it's a drug to regulate ovulation.
I was on Clomid for about 6 months to regulate ovulation and give me a longer
luteal phase (I have a luteal phase defect) which is the part of the cycle after
you have ovulated. It worked in the sense that I ovulated regularly, and my
cycle did stretch out to a full 28 days, but I didn't get pregnant. Of course,
not getting pregnant in my case didn't mean that the drug didn't work. They
hadn't diagnosed my sperm antibody problem yet.

Can you give some more details on what they've found if they are prescribing
fertility drugs? And didn't the doctor explain to you what has been found (or
not found) already when explaining why Seraphene was being prescribed? If not,
you need to ask your doctor more about what's being done and why.

If you give me some more details, maybe I can answer your question better.

Regards,
Cathy
