308.0. "child support lawyer needed..." by 2CRAZY::FLATHERS (Be kind...I have teenagers!) Mon Aug 20 1990 13:07

A co-worker of mine ( who wishes not to be named in this public forum )
is having difficulties trying to get child support from the father of her
2 children. It's amazing how so many fathers refuse to pay any support
for their children, but.... thats for another topic.

Can anybody recommend a lawyer who's specialty is forcing delinquent
fathers to make good on their responsibility ???

Jack

I don't know how the law is in her state, but depending on the
circumstances in Colorado, the district attorney's office takes a very
dim view of non-support-paying parents. However, in my case it wasn't
worth the effort involved. My oldest idolizes her father, and can't or
won't understand that he is ripping her off, not me, and not my
youngest or my so. Having his wages garnished would just have him
leaving the state which would give Lolita no fatherly contact. In
spite of his lack of responsibility in financial matters with her, he
    still is her father.

IF SHE LIVES IN MASSACHUSETTES AND HAS A DECREE FORM A COURT SHE DOES
NOT NEED A LAWYER . ALL SHE NEEDS TO DO IS CONTACT THE COURT AND THEY
WILLL DO THE REST. YOU SEE, IN MASS THE INTERNAL REVENUE DEPT.
IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COLLECTING THE PAYMENTS, AND THEY ARE A BUNCH OF
WOLVES SMILE). AND THEY WILL GO ANYWHERE TO COLLECT. ALSO IN MASS
UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES IF YOU ARE LATE TWICE AND DON'T CATCH UP
THEY WILL GARNISH THE WAGES OF THE WAYWARD SOLE. (NO QUESTIONS
    ASKED.....
