185.0. "Entry level Personnel- how to find" by GIAMEM::MACKINNON (ProChoice is a form of democracy) Thu Jun 07 1990 15:06
Moderators: not sure if this is the correct place to put this note,
but since there are bound to be personnel folks reading this file
I thought this may be a good place to look and seek answers.
Hi,
My boyfriend is looking to get into a Human Resources generalist
position. He currently has two years experience in recruiting,
but realizes that he needs more experience to be considered a
generalist. He also realizes that he is going to have to start
with an entry level position. Now the questions.
Where does one find these positions? He has been using the
Globe and the Herald, but most of the positions advertised
are not entry level. Where else should he be looking?
Being a headhunter he knows that most recruiters will not take
jobs which are entry level so he can not really use that avenue.
Are there any trade journals in Human Resource that might
be able to help him along? If so please give the name and where
it may be found.
If you want to send me any info my node is GIAMEM::MACKINNON.
Any and all help will be appreciated,
Michele
PS. I know that DEC is still not able to hire externally so this
company is not a possibility.
Also this is cross posted in the Career notesfile.
