I heard on a television news broadcast that there is a nursing home that is providing a toll free call to either Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus played by residents of the nursing home. I did not catch the hours, but I would assume normal business hours. Children can call in and have a real conversation with the actor or actress. It is good for the patients and fun for the children. The number is 1-800-442-XMAS.

It's called the "Ho-Ho Hotline" and I think it's based in Texas. The line is also open a day or two after Christmas so kids can call and say thanks and so the nursing home residents don't feel such a post-Christmas let-down! |
