A friendly question for the community...

Would anyone be interested in excerpts from an antique auto newspaper
called Old Cars Weekly, specifically a column written by a woman about
women and autos. Admittedly it's on the lighter side but the column
is interesting and highlights the role women have had in the auto
industry, the antique auto hobby, etc. If anyone thinks it would
be worth a topic, kindly let me know and I'll be happy to enter
excerpts when the column is run.

845.3Her Honor, the judgeHANNAH::MODICAWed Nov 08 1989 09:1325
Reprinted without permission from Old Cars Weekly
Nov. 9th edition. The column is "Women with Wheels"
	by Mary Sieber.

"Women judges serve on teams at every national Antique
Automobile Club of America car show. But only one
woman to date has achieved the proud recognition os having
received her 100th brass plate for field judging and AACA
judging schools. A-Mary Abrams of Hagerstown Md received this
distinction at the Grand Forks, ND national meet on Aug 12th
when AACA President Howard Scotland presented her with her 100th
judging chip during the judges' breakfast."

The rest of the article goes on to describe A-Mary's background
which is quite intensive with respect to autos. Born in Wales,
her uncle had encouraged her to help keep their cars running.
After she came to the states she became interested in racing,
learned to race and over the years ended up owning some
very impressive automobiles including a Jaguar, Mercedes,
Ferrari and Austin-Healy. She's also been involved with
restoring a 1932 Packard which is what originally got her
involved with judging. "I was curious to find out what
the judges were looking for in the cars on the field."
