| Try stores that stock larger sizes, or "fuller" sizes. I think
Sears sells womens' separates in the same colors, only you can buy
different cuts of the jacket (fuller or more narrow, larger or smaller)
and the skirt to fit your type of body. Kind of like the bikini
separates I've seen advertised, where the top and bottom don't have
to be the same size - you buy 'em separately but they're of the
same pattern material.

Depending on what price range you are looking in I would recommend
Wallach's. Their suits are extremely well made, designed to be
tailored (something that men's suits typically have been but womens
have not), and they provide professional tailoring. Of course all
of this quality comes for a price. But right now Wallachs is having
a sale. They have stores in Natick, Worcester, and Manchester NH.
Another store, a bit less in price, still has high quality suits
with professional tailoring (tailoring is extra here) is Bristol
County in the Leominster Mall. The difference is that Wallach's
I have found this year at least to have a wider selection of
styles than Bristol County.

I just bought a suit at Jordan Marsh - and it was the 'mix-n-match'
type, with the jacket one size and the skirt another. That is the
only way I have found suits to fit that are not to expensive for my
pocket book. I think they have them at Anderson Little that way
to, but not sure..

| Stop looking for a "suit", and look for "separates". They can be
in any price range. Most people walk into a store and ask for suits
and mostt suits are made for the perfectly proportioned body, and
unless you ask, an inexperienced sales associate will not direct
you to separates when you ask for suits. If you like the classic
look, Pendelton can be a good choice. You can buy 2 or 3 Blazers
and 6 or 8 skirts/slacks and have a complete interchangeable wardrobe.
The things last for ever and they match additional purchases year
after year, the colors almost never vary. I bought a red Pendelton
jacket on sale one year and bought the matching skirt two years
later, and it matched perfectly, mean while I had two different plaid
skirts that went with the red jacket.
In the retail world, there is a tendancy to not lump the names of
things together. There are suits, usually a matching or coordinating
jacket and skirt/slacks purchased together for one price, cordinates,
individualy priced items, jackets, skirts, slacks, sweaters, vests
etc., and two peice dresses, usually a cordinating outfit of a
lighter weight construction than a suit but also sold at one price.
I hope this helps in your search.

tall stuff too [sigh].

| When I was in a job where I HAD to wear suits everyday (I LOVE being
in engineering now :-)..).. I usually bought my suits at Caren Charles.
They also sell most of their suits in separates, but do have suits also.
I also found that if I waited until the end of the season, I could
even afford the store :-)
Another place to look is Fall River, Mass. They have several places
that have outlet suit/separates at a VERY reasonable price usually.
Its been a while since I've been down there, so I can't remember the
names of the stores, but it may be worth a trip..

| Come on Maggie just have it all let down... 8^)
But your right quality tall suits are hard to find. I have several from
Anderson Little, I only needed the arms let out (as much as possible),
but it a compromise because the fitted part isn't always exactly were
it should be.
Tailor made it is...
