Does anyone have any ideas of where to hold a bridal shower? The girls in the bridal party do not have a house large enough to accomodate 50 people and we plan to cater our own food. I would like to hold it somewhere in the Boston area and the few places I've checked (such as estates for rent) are quite expensive. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Robin

1. Local church hall 2. YWCA 3. ELKS club (or similar club with hall) Any of the above would probably cost around $50.00.

I've been to several that were held in the upstairs bar-rooms of fire stations. If you know anyone who's a volunteer he can probably get the room for free or for a nominal cost. I don't know if the stations are the same in MA as in NY, but just about all of ours have these big rec type rooms upstairs that are perfect. The one we've used several times has a kitchen for food preparation, a bar and lots of big round tables. Just bring in the decorations and you're all set. Phyllis

You may want to check Mount Hood in Melrose, Massachusetts. They have a big hall and it has a fireplace inside it. It is very cozy. There is also a bar in another room where people can buy their own drinks, and you can bring in your own caterer. |
