    This wil be my first party of any notes, I am scared a little of
    rejection by other noters, alot excited of meeting everybody, 
    and if possiable, I'll bring a fresh picked homemade blueberry
    pie blueberries willing! Pls give directions as I will ride my

Thanks, David, for hosting (again) a =wn= party.

Was able to suffle some MIT theatre tickets so I'm definitely
going now...  now sure what I'm bringing since I will not be
able to cook on the night of the 17'th.  Best guess right now
is stealing an idea of an Eagle's from previous party note and
bring some good take-out pizza (does anyone *not* like pepperoni
and mushrooms?) and beer (Can Chihuahua be found anywhere locally?)

Oh, don't worry, Lise!  David's parties are a good place to start!  
After wimping out on going to 2 previous =wn= parties, I finally 
went to my first at his house in January.  Thought I was at the 
wrong party when I walked in and the only people I saw in David's 
kitchen were 5 *men*!  Almost started backing out the way I entered
when someone (either David or Steve Lionel) said hi and I saw the
=wn= on their nametags.  I was just a little surprised that at a 
=wn= party, the first 5 people I saw were men, not that it bothered
me or anything :-) !  Actually, I thought them clever - what better
way to meet women than at a =wn= party!! (not to second-guess their
intentions or anything :-)) 

So expect the unexpected; it will be fun.

    Here's the  first draft of the party list. Please let me know if I
    don't  have  your  name  the  way you want it on your name tag. We
    could  also use a few more people from the end of the alphabet. It
    was  bad  enough  always  being last in line in school, but now to
    find  that  everyone has changed their names to avoid being at the
    end of the line makes it worse. :-) I have not listed the numerous
    ghosts which will be haunting us.

    My beloved  (and  now  bethrothed)  has some qualms about the side
    effects  of  my  making brownies. (See note 736.) She doesn't mind
    the  swooning, but she has suggested that I shouldn't consider any
    more  proposals.  She may be particularly sensitive to this reason
    for  proposing  because  she  fell in love with me for my brownies
    (that's  what she tells me, so I must believe it.) So I'm afraid I
    may  not  be  able to make that particular recipie until after our
    kutubah is signed.

If you happen to see a ghost at the party tonight that looks a lot like me,
don't be too astonished.  Last minute scheduling changes have made it possible,
I think, for me to attend - at least for a little while.  Unfortunately,
I won't have had time to prepare my usual offering, so I'll bring something
else (as yet undetermined).

    When I got to David's house last night things were still a bit
    chaotic, several people chipped in and helped out with getting
    things ready and I'd like to extend especial thanks to them.
    In particular to Dave Garcia for general all around help, and
    to Linda Lust for making a store run for ice and soda, and to
    Ann Leach for making a store run for ingredients for more punch,
    and for helping make up the punch. David also asked me to thank
    Doug Gordon and Matt Kirk for helping with clean up.
    
    It was wonderful to see so many new faces last night. I really hope
    to continue to see your names in the file and your faces at the
    parties. It was also very nice to see so many old friends, especially
    a few who hadn't been able to come to =wn= party for awhile.
    
    Lise Kuhlman your blueberry muffins were much appreciated, we wer
    just sorry you didn't manage to get to the party with them.

    My only complaint - the evening seemed to pass in the blink of an
    eye!  Guess I'm still in college mode where parties last until at
    least 3am (instead of 11:30pm :-)). Heck, it takes me till midnight
    to just get talkative :-) !
