I'm going back to school over the summer (yeah!) and will have some
time available. Does anyone know of a volunteer position which might
take someone for about 3 - 6 months in Boston? Also, is there any
regular posting of volunteer oppportunities? I'm open to anything.

Also, i would think the shelters could use help...
try Rosie's Place,
the Pine Street Inn,
Long Island Shelter, etc.
There is also the Salvation Army, and Goodwill, who usually
take all the help they can get.
If you are looking for specific 'women's support groups' to
volunteer your time to...you might give a call to
the Women's Center in Cambridge, and ask them for suggestions.

If you like children, there's always Childrens Hospital. I volunteer
there and have a ball! The kids are great.

If you want to "get back" more than you "give" try the Special
Olympics. I helped a friend once who volunteers her time with
SO and I'll tell you, there's not a better feeling! I really felt
that I got more back in the way of love from those kids than I was
able to give.
