I will bring Szechuan noodles with chicken & veggies, because
Alfred_Thompson_who_doesn't_like_pasta_salads told me he liked
this, and Diet Coke (breakfast of champions).

Also in my car (in case of emergency :-)) I usually have:
   a basketball, a football, a swimsuit, fins, goggles,
   and one change of clothes.

Am I forgetting anything?

    But I read all the food that going to the party, and since
    I hate to cook but love to eat, decided what the heck, I
    *like* to drive!
    
    I will bring a dessert called Trifle [no, I don't know why
    unless it means its a trifle easy to make].  Fruit and ladyfingers

    "Engineer", Sy Kahn's "Truck-Drivin' Woman" and suchlike.

    No, this is not an adults-only party.  My house is not massively
    childproof (nor full of delightful toys) but neither do I keep
    poisons and knives within three feet of the floor.  And I did
    spray heavy-duty pesticide on every poison ivy spray I could find.

...a crucial ingredient for the Szechuan noodles I'm bringing to the
   party!  But relatively hard to find fresh...

     Does anyone know of a store/vegetable stand that carries cilantro
in the greater Maynard area?  Cilantro is also known as coriander leaves
or Chinese parsely.  It is mostly used in Oriental and Mexican recipes.
You might have had it if you've ever had fajitas; it's in the pico de gallo
(the tomato relish served on the side) if the restaurant is being authentic.
It closely resembles Italian parseley, but has a very different aroma and
taste.  Concord Spice & Grain has it dried, but there's no comparison to 
fresh cilantro used in this recipe.

Would anyone who's ever been insulted by Mark Levesque (he calls himself
"the Doctah") in this notes file and is coming to the party please
extract the offensive notes so you can take the issue up with Mark on
Saturday?   Mark, the rest of us will just express our sympathies to
your wife, Betsy...

Darn it.  Suzanne Conlon, can you believe you are going to miss this
golden opportunity?  Have any cheap shots (oops, I mean constructive
criticisms:-) ) you want me to pass along to the pre-med student?

Mark, forget about needing a LTC to come to the party.  By the end of

    twisting. :-) However, it was partially due to her having asked me to
    go to two separate =wn= parties before this one that motivated me. (She

    My only worry is that, in doing justice to Kosell, I'll have to

    "egregious", and the like.  Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment,

    Ann,

    I, too, want to add my thanks for opening your home and 
    rock pile to your people noters (I was glad the offer of
    the rocks/pebbles/boulders went unused!).  I must say 
    the "walking target" was cute (almost as cute as his
    offspring!).  

    The food was simply scrumptious.  I would request that
    the person who brought the pot roast please send me a 
    copy of the recipie post-haste.....I could have eaten
    the whole thing single-mouthed!  The professional cookie
    baker +pat+ did us all in with her choc chip cookies.  I
    had to tell one noter that there were nuts in them in order
    to keep her from eating them.....she made me swear there 
    were nuts so she could keep eating the crudities safely.

    A pleasant summer's eve party with well-behaved little ones
    in attendance.

I don't know how the evening passed with me only exchanging about two
sentences with the HighSchoolBiologyStudent (aka, Snidely Whiplash),
whom I appropriately clad with a human target silhouette taped to his
back and a target score card on his chest.

I guess it was the long line I would've had to wait in just to talk to
him....There were these *masses* of violent femmes surrounding him with
extractions of his offensive notes :-) :-) !   And I didn't even get a
chance to check the score sheet to see who had the most direct hits 
& points!


Maggie, it was wonderful to finally meet you.  You get the
most_memorable_one_liner said to me at the party award with:

         "You don't *look* like a hardware engineer!"

I've decided to take that as a compliment :-).


Most of all, thanks to those who gave me positive feedback on the notes
concerning rape that I've written in =wn=.  It means a lot to me to know
that people find them useful in some way.  A couple of times I've
started to write something and not because I thought, "This is too ugly.
People wouldn't enjoy reading this."

    PS fourth, thanks to all the cooks, I had two helpings of almost
    everything !     

    Well, it's over, and I enjoyed doing it.
    
    Actually, it isn't really over yet.  Tracy and I have made arrangements
    for her to retrieve her lost object; Steve and I are still working
    on his retrieval; I'll be returning an item or two to the Burrows
    on Tuesday; but who left the, uh, blocks of coldness?  I can visualize
    someone dropping the bag on the counter, but not who.
    
    Maggie, Tim (who only Nancy and Les (and the awake Burrows, who've
    met him before) got to see) bore up well upon being informed that
    he had to finish youre Samual Adams beer ("A domestic beer.  Heck,
    a local beer.  Ah, Ann, the sacrifices I make for you.") before
    he buys any more.

    I'm so sorry to have missed meeting you all! A couple of days
    before the party I got bad news about my mother, who is terminally
    ill. She has Lou Gehrigs disease (ALS), and while she is still
    not at death's door she is now much worse and will soon be
    respirator dependent. On the day of the party I was still in
    shock from the news and just couldn't bring myself to go.
    
    I so wanted to meet you all!

in our famiy .... sympathy and best wishes during a tough time.
