584.0. "Seeking Input on Womannotes" by LEZAH::BOBBITT (Sport Death-only life can kill you) Mon May 08 1989 19:16

    This file has been humming along quite nicely for several years.
    The co-moderators of the file figured it was about time to survey
    the file, where it has been, where it is, where it's going, and
    how it should get there.

    If you like, you can discuss these issues in this topic (although
    it will be understood that ALL opinions are equally valid, and nobody
    should try to convince anybody to change their mind about their opinion).

    Primarily, I am seeking input via electronic MAIL from all readers and
    writers of Womannotes. I want *honest* responses about how you all
    feel about the development of the file, the tone of the file, how it
    handles both routine and difficult situations, what you'd like to see
    more or less of in the future. All responses will be kept
    confidential, and the results will be summarized by me, then pored over
    by the co-moderators as a group. Decisions on the direction of
    the file will not be made hastily, and we would like your help in
    forming these decisions.

    We are charting a course of the community, by the community, for
    the community.  Guide us well.

    -Jody

584.1More opinions needed....LEZAH::BOBBITTinvictus maneoFri May 12 1989 17:339
    I have gotten some feedback, but I would like to hear more voices.
    Quiet voices, loud voices, happy voices, unhappy voices. Opinions
    are unique, and I'd like to hear as many as possible....nobody can
    speak for you but you.

    thanks for your energies...

584.2SUPER::HENDRICKSThe only way out is throughFri May 12 1989 21:3410
    I'm sure you co-mods have your reasons, but I guess I was kind of
    surprised to see you eliciting a return to "processing mode". When
    I was a moderator of womannotes, we spent an awful lot of time
    corresponding with people who were begging us to get back to *content*
    and get off the constant processing.

    Maybe the lack of response reflects the attitude, "If it ain't broke,
    don't fix it".

584.3WMOIS::B_REINKEIf you are a dreamer, come in..Fri May 12 1989 23:0512
    Holly,

    We'd like to have the responses sent to Jody by mail, rather
    than start another 'process'. This note was started as a result
    of some input we got from a number of people by mail and in
    person about problems they have currently with =wn=.

    thanks for writing  :-)

    (and we miss you)
584.4Thank you...LEZAH::BOBBITTseeking the balanceThu Jun 01 1989 14:5515
    The responses have slowed in volume, and I have summarized the
    information thus far for co-moderator perusal. We appreciate the
    time many of you took to tell us what you thought.

    The polls are not quite closed...I would still like to hear from
    members who have not found the time to respond yet, or members who are
    returning from a hiatus, or new members who are just reaching this note
    for the first time....

    You have given us your concerns and praises, and much food for thought....

    Thank you,

    Jody (one among many co-moderators)

584.5Still open to inputLYRIC::BOBBITTthe phoenix-flowering dark roseTue Mar 13 1990 13:3115
    Just a reminder that we are still open to opinions, suggestions, and
    recommendations from the notesfile participants - the polls are never
    quite closed. I would like to hear from members who have not found the
    time to reaspond yet, or who have new insights into the notesfile.
    Please send your thoughts to me via e-mail, rather than posting them as
    replies to this topic.

    As before, identities will be stripped from the survey responses, and
    the information will be mulled-over by the co-moderators as we forge
    ahead into the future of womannotes....

    thanks,

    -Jody
