I wrote this request on thread notefile and putting it here in case some of the reader has insights. My sister needs a seamstress badly for her August wedding. 1. her wedding gown needs alot of alteration: sleeve puff tighten, sleeve shorten, gown shorten (but there are scallops and emblem on the dress. 2. three bridesmaid dresses made. we picked out a Vogue pattern out of the career section (knee-hi length), not the bridal section. we want to wear the dress later. it says EASY on the pattern. I live in Westboro and my sister is in Boston. anywhere one hour from either places will be ideal for us. thanks in advance for the help. Jane Yee

I use a seamstress in N. Chelmsford. Her name is Flo, I have found her to be very reasonable and very talented. Her telephone # is (508) 251-3089, and she is located on Princeton Boulevard. She would be about 30 minutes outside of Boston. Andrea | |||||

Jane, you might also consider talking with Beth Klein, a member of our community who is now temporarily out of touch with us because she's staying home with her small children. She lives in Townsend, which is about an hour away from Boston, and has 20 years experience of sewing. (I know nothing about her skill, though after 20 years I should think it would be pretty good; she put a note in here (83.0) just before she left saying that she'd be glad to have seamstress work while she's out) =maggie |
