466.0. "Woman In Business Seminar, 3/25/89" by NEBVAX::BELFORTI (DISPATCHING: it's a living!) Thu Feb 23 1989 17:05

I am entering this note for my mother-in-law. I looked through each
topic, and found nothing pretaining to this. A DIR/TITLE showed
nothing, that's why the individual attention. If I somehow missed
it, please put this where it belongs. Thx!

On March 25, 1989, Woman in Business will sponsor a seminar entitled
"Women Helping Women" to be held at the Sheraton Sturbridge Resort
and Conference Center in Sturbridge, MA, from 9:00 to 5:00.
Registration is from 8:30 to 9:00.

The focus of the seminar is to bring area women together to learn
about various issues affecting women in the workplace.

Pamela Lathan, Group Personnel Manager at Digital, will be speaking
on the changing role of women in corporate America over the past
twenty years. She will be discussing the trends in promotions and
hiring, as well as which industries have shown a timeline progression
or regression in advancing women on the work force.

Ms. Lathan's presentation will examine key workplace issues such
as flex time and the changing face of benefits concerns, including
day care and dependent care of aging parents.

One highlight of Ms. Lathan's presentation, and perhaps the most
critical issue in equal employment opportunity, is a discussion
of sexual harassment in the workplace. Her presentatoin will be
followed by a panel discussion on how to respond to a sexual harassment
situation, with guest panelists who have had first-hand experience
    in sexual harassment claims.

During the luncheon Carol LoRusso, owner of the COL'Amour studio
will be givng a presentation on color analysis and image makeovers.
Ms. LoRusso is a certified color and image consultant specializing
in computerized color analysis, individual wardrobe planning, and
corporate image. A highlight of her presentation will include a
makeover "before-and-after" demonstration of four pre-selected women
representing examples of autumn, spring, winter, and summer coloring.

The afternoon session will feature Jane Bullock-Crocitto, a
third-degree black belt in Tai Kwon Do. She will be discussing
various tips on safety and self-defense for women. Her talk will
be followed by a self-defense training class featuring audience
    participation.

The cost of the seminar is $35.00 for members, $50.00 for non-memebers.
Reservations must be recieved by March 16, 1989. Walk-ins will
