261.0. "WORCESTER PHOTOGRAPHER??" by SHARE::SHEPELUK () Fri Oct 28 1988 14:27

    Hi,

First time accessing Notes for me. My name is Christina Shepeluk
    and I work at HLO2.

I need a little help if possible. I will be getting married
September 9, 1989 and I am having trouble finding a Photographer.
Any suggestions for the Worcester Area?? I have a few referrals,
though some seem to be going nowhere.

Price I am looking for is around $800.00 or so. (give or take some).
I am finding the "wedding package deals" very, very diceiving.

My pictures will be very important to my future husband and I...

If anyone can help, I would be extremely GRATEFUL!!!!

(p.s. It will be a 10:00 a.m. Wedding with the reception held from
12:00 on at the Spencer Country Inn).

    Thanks Much in Advance!,

    Christina

    Christina -

I don't live in your part of the country, so I can't give references
for specific photographers - I can however, offer you a tidbit of
advice (I was just married 7/9/88). We hired a very reputable photog
(& very costly as well). No matter HOW good they are - they will
most always forget some shots (shots which you will consider very
    special)

My photog, for example, did not take ANY pictures of me (the bride)
alone on the alter. There are SCADS of shots of me & everyone else
though. It just so happens that my parents have an 8X10 of all
the girls on their wedding days - alone - except now there would
have not been one of me. He did not take one of me & my ring bearer
& flower girl (brother & sister - my niece & nephew) also, their
mother (my sister) was my maid of honor - but there is not a single
picture of the 3 of them - which would have been very nice to have.

My point here is that - even though they are "professionals" they
don't think of everything - they don't know what is important to
you. Before you get SO busy that you can't even think straight
(and you WILL) sit & write a list of ALL the special shots you want.
Give it to you MOH or your mom to give to the photog the morning
of the wedding. This way he will be sure to get all the special
shots that he would otherwise not know about - and, believe me,
you won't have time to think about reminding him to get!

Also, my photog did not get ANY pictures (group) of my husbands
family! (can you imagine!) And he really is suppose to reputable
    & professional!

I went back to the photog after seeing our pictures (which by the
way, were just wonderful!) and explained how I felt about certain
shots - he invited back into the studio for a formal sitting (in
my wedding dress ----- which hasn't been cleaned yet :-) ) and also,
for the next time my in-laws are in town for them to come in and
have a portrait done. All free of charge.

So, even if something is missed (something obvious) tell them how
you feel. You will pay a great deal of money & deserve the best!

    Christina,

Dave Chase of Concord did a great job at my wedding. He made
sure he got all the shots on my list, and kept an eye peeled for
great candids--like when my bother got my grandmother up jitterbuging!
    He's with Martin Studios 369-6330.
