| Here's one:
I read that the stage set-up for the Beastie Boys concerts include
a VERY scantily clad woman in a cage. (The other "decorations"
being a giant beer can and a giant "male genital part") And that's
all it is, too; just a decoration. Lovely.
I for one, listened to one Guns and Roses song, and was not impressed
to buy the album, and don't care to follow the group. Now that
I know what their attitude is (the T-shirt described), I am definitely
not a G&R follower.
A little fun is one thing. On a Y&T video, you see a number of
beautiful women on the beach, properly attired, and this one group
of girls in leather, doing just like the other girls, more or less
(like putting motor oil on fishnet clad legs instead of suntan lotion).
I found that video rather amusing (especially since I know that
one of the leather girls is a Hollywood stuntwoman, Debbie Evans), and it
is all in fun. But the Guns & Roses thing is not hardly acceptable.
If G&R is the modern thing to like, I'm glad that I'm an old fashioned
type.

| Guns and roses caters to teens who want their rock and roll rough
and sleazy. Period. They say as much on rock magazines. They
are "the kings of sleaze". They admit it. They cash in on it.
Their song "Welcome to the Jungle" was pretty sleazy, but their
more recent hit "Sweet Child (of mine?)" isn't quite as bad.
That genre of music will probably always flourish, as long as there
are people that buy in.
I much prefer Def Leppard if you're talking recent Metal bands.
But give me Led Zeppelin (great music with a touch of lewd connotation,
but without the sexist sleaze) any day.
