Subj: Update on surgery
Hi folks. I just wanted to update you all.
As most of you know, I have been out of work for the last week and a half
after undergoing emergency gall bladder surgery. I should be back at work
around the 15th or 19th, I think, but I won't know for sure until I see the
doctor again tomorrow (Thursday). I am feeling much better, but still cannot
pick up more than 10 pounds (at least, not often) and Evan is over 15 pounds
now. :-}
The good news is that the doctor thinks that ALL of my problems/illnesses
since Evan was born may have been due the the gall stones, since women with
high levels of estrogen often have these problems and pregnancy increases the
estrogen level. Soooo, since I no longer have a gall bladder, I should start
feeling better soon.
Thanks for your concern.

| I appears that gall bladder surgery is in "vogue" in Colorado. I have
spoken with Suzanne a few times since her surgery and she is doing much
better. I will be back at work on Monday, the 19th. Thank you all for
your support.

and who is a dear friend of mine lost her baby girl to a still birth
Monday morning. I'd like to ask for prayers or what ever each of
you feels appropriate to your beliefs for her and her husband Eric
and little Erica whose time on earth was so very very short.

150.5 | A poem offered to comfort | COOKIE::WILCOX | What is a Jellico cat? | Thu Oct 13 1988 13:44 | 26 |
| I posted this in the parenting notes file and will do so here in the
hope that it will provide comfort for anyone who needs it. It was
written by Helen Steiner Rice and was chosen by my mom to appear on
the back of the program at my grandad's memorial service a few years
ago:
We give our loved ones
back to God.
And just as He first gave
them to us
and did not lose them
in the giving,
so we have not lost them
in returning them to Him...
for life is eternal,
love is immortal,
death is only a horizon...
and a horizon is nothing
but the limit
of our earthly sight.
My heart goes out to her.

I received this in the mail today, apparently it is the second call
for blood for this young man. The first brought a terriffic response,
but the need is still there.
