Go West to find experienced women managers. Twelve percent of working
women in the western states are employed as executives, compared
to 8% in the Midwest, 9% in the South, and 10% in the Northeast,
according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Also, 25% of working
women in the West hold managerial or professional jobs, almost equal
to the 28% of working men in those jobs[!!]. Possible reason: more
opportunities and less structure.
