813.0. "URGENT: OB/Gyn in TWO/ACO area" by MOSAIC::TARBET () Tue Apr 19 1988 15:20

    A member of our community, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time,
    is in urgent need of the name of "an understanding and hopefully female
    clinican/OB-GYN" in the I495 area between Tewksbury and Acton who will
    perform an elective tubal ligation. This is an INFORMATION-ONLY
    request, please; she is in her late 30s, has the support of her SO in
    this matter, and feels very clear that this is the right decision to
    have taken.

    Thank you all.

    						in Sisterhood,

    not an OB/Gyn, but a warm, supportive holistic physician who could
    prolly make a useful referral.

    I like Vivian Varese, too. She listens! She makes sure there is
    plenty of time during each visit to talk about whatever is going
    on. As a result, she sometimes makes connections between things
    I'd never thought of.

    She is an internist by trade, and she does all my ob/gyn stuff very
    competently and compassionately.

    I don't know what their status is on the coast, but have you tried
    Planned Parenthood? I know that in Colorado, they have a pretty
    good referral system for GYN's who do sterilization, regardless
    of marital status and age.

    Try Carl Bender -- he's affiliated with Emerson Hospital in Concord
    and did one for a friend of mine a couple of years ago. He lives
    in Acton but I don't know where his office is.

    You might ask for Fallopian rings instead of cauterization;
    they have a better rate of reversal, and may make the doctor feel
    better.  :-}
