785.0. "Wanted: GYN medical practioner referral Leominster, Ma." by BETA::EARLY (Bob_the_hiker) Mon Apr 04 1988 13:41

  Medical / Referrals needed ...

Being relatively new to the leomister Mass area; Marie needs for
herself a competent Gyn and Dentist, as well as a family practioner.

We've been using a "Store Chain-type" of medical service; but
we'd like to know if any folks know of any "homey type" of medical
practioners who are also competant ( whom you could recommend).

Feel free to contact me directly:

I second the motion on Montachusett Obstetrics and Gynecology, Inc.

I saw Dr. Cirillo for the typical OB/Gyn visit, and she was very
nice. I'ld recommend her in a minute.

I'm also interested in MD's in the leominster area. i hate to admit
it, but I've lived here 2 years without really looking for one.
What I'd like is an old-fashioned family doctor. I hear there
is one in shirley, but he only takes shirley residents. (He does
house calls and all!!) I'm primarily interested in a dr that will
listen to me, when I tell her/him what is wrong.

Any reccomendations would be appreciated, in any area around
    leominster-fitchburg or up 495N.

    thanks,mary
785.4Dr. Paul HartMCIS2::MORANTue Apr 05 1988 10:196
For a good old family Doctor, try Dr. Paul Hart M.D. in Sterling.
I can't think of his number off hand but I know it's in the book.
Also with Dr. Hart, he doesn't make you make an appointment 2 months
ahead of time, He tries to fit you in as soon as possible. (which
is usually within the next two days).

Regular general medical practice --
    Dr. Knute Alfredson
    Fitchburg, 342-7590
A regular appointment can take a few months, but non-hospital
emergencies get same day. (Answers questions as tho a grown-up
    asked them)

OB/GYN
    Dr. Bonnie Laudenback
    Fitchburg, 582-9911
By 4:00 pm, her office appointments are always running 30 to
60 minutes late, but I think the primary cause is that she
queries and *listens* to her patients. (She recently gave a seminar
    on monopause at Burbank Hospital.)

Dentist
    Dr. Richard Comeau
    Leominster, 537-9930
My husband and I tried four or five dentists back in 1973-74 and
settled on him. He takes time to do the work, and I notice some
of his staff -- receptionist and assistants -- have been with him
    for years. A good sign.

PS I'd be interested in hearing the opinion of anyone else who has
gone to any of these people.

PPS Bob, what does "homey" mean in connection with medical people? Meigs
