| Is There a Parent's Anonomous group in your area? They often need
volunteers for crisis management. IE if a parent calls and is afraid
She/he is at the end of his/her rope, a volunteer goes out and
works with that parent. This can involve counseling and some
babysitting of both parent and children. I haven't been involved
with them personally, but I understand that they do great preventitive
work.

Since we're on the topic of Abused Children, for anyone interested, Channel
5 is doing a special this week on Incest during their news broadcast at
6:00. I taped and watched it last night and it was very informative.
Tonight they will be talking about the legal implications of the problem.
At the end of the clip they gave the number of the Child Abuse Hotline.
Perhaps the hotline could give you the names of the local organizations.

| Children's Aid and Family Services is always looking for emergency
foster parents who will take in a distressed child with little
notice. Kids need all the help they can get. Thanks for reachiing
out to them.
