530.0. "Brigid's Blessing" by MONSTR::PHILPOTT (The Colonel - [WRU #338]) Thu Oct 29 1987 09:18

In case anybody missed me (unlikely!) or thought I was hiding, I
wasn't. The fact is that I've been ill (I had a bout of
pneumonia) - anyway due to that old four letter word [WORK] I
will have to let this conference go into [very occasional] read
only mode for a few months.

In view of the forthcoming festivity when 13 will be one and the
circle will close, I thought I'd leave you with the following
benediction, known as "Brigid's Blessing". (Brigid is the main
Goddess in the Irish version of the Celtic Pantheon. This
version is translated into English, mainly because my terminal
doesn't have a Runic character set).

May the Goddess' tears wash away your fears,
May Her breath fill the winds of your desires,
May Her smiles light your path through life.

I sign off with an old nickname that I won't explain, but it is
        seasonal.

I can't believe that I have finally found folks who have heard of
Brigid!!!! I would appreciate any info regarding literature about
her. I can't find anything in the library or book stores.
    Blessed be
