525.0. "Surrender of identity" by FSLENG::CHERSON (reality=a collective hunch) Thu Oct 22 1987 09:38
Hello,
I don't usually check into this conference, but I have a question
which I have been wanting to ask you for some time.
Why is it that many women (and many in DEC) these days are so willing
to give up their "maiden" name once they get married, and take on
their husbands' family name? I thought that this surrender of identity
had been outmoded, but then again it is the '80's, isn't it?
