470.0. "Another gathering?" by STUBBI::B_REINKE (where the sidewalk ends) Tue Sep 08 1987 13:56

There have been a couple of failed attempts to get
another womannotes get togehter off the ground. Recently
I've been asked by mail if I am willing to organize
another gathering. I'm game but need a place - Leslie
Smith is passing this time. If there is anyone in the
area to the west of Maynard (preferably) who is willing
to offer their home please let me know. (either by mail
or as an answer to this note.

how about another lunch gathering? or maybe after work, so we don't
have to go 10 nanoseconds after we arrive...

The problem with meeting at a restaurant is that you only get
to talk to the people you are sitting next to, and can't wander...

...and the good thing about meeting at a restaurant is that you
have 10 people to talk to all at once, and you don't have to stand
around wondering if you are a part of the conversation you are
listening to while shifting your weight uneasily from foot to foot!

(a slight exaggeration, but I liked the lunch party the best)

okay, Lee or Holly will you pick a restaurant and a time
and get things rolling? I am going to opt out of organizing
this one I think....unless someone sends me mail offering their
    home.

I am trying to manage 2 full time projects, and also getting ready to
travel to Reading...not a good time for me to add any responsibilities.
    But I'd love to come.

Maybe we could get a small function room, that way we could mingle.
It's times like this that I wish I lived closer so that I could
offer my place, but I am really west of Maynard.

Mark November 7th on your calendars, and send your dancing shoes out
for an oil change; my yearly "y'all come" party (a week after the
New York Marathon, the day after my birthday) is on track and under
budget.

Send me mail if you need directions.

Martin.

Okeydoke. Folks, we NEED a party! There has been so much garbage
going on that would be a lot calmer if we had some idea of who lies
    behind the notorious node_name.

Can't at my house (approx 200 sq ft appt), can't at Bonnie's (TOO
FAR!!!), can't at Holly's, gotta find a place.

You can be read-only (last parties were at a read-only's place).

Your house can be VERY MESSY (imagine my apartment's state, as well
as that of Bonnie's house). There are many of us who are more than
willing to clean up the day after, help find a place to deposit
children if you don't want them kept up all night. I am even willing
    to help clean BEFORE.

You need to be west of Maynard, east of Springfield, south of the
NH border (or right on it) and north of CT. I like the middle of
    495, but then again, I'm a Newtonite.

If we find a place that's hard for some of you 'cause of driving
time, I can put some people up at my place for the night so they
    won't have to drive.

Anyone with contact to a function hall (for ex. the Scout House
in Walden) could check it out.

See y'all there. (can we invite some mennoters who got mad at
womannoters too or would that be letting them set our agenda [kidding,
Justine, just a needle from friendly quarters])?

We have a party volunteer and a date for another party. It will
be at Liz Augustine's house Friday December 4th. She has requested
smoking only out of doors, and no children. I will start a new sign
up note for the party (and I would encourage womannoters to attend
either of the other two parties that are being held the end of this
month the beginning of next which are not specifically womannotes
    parties.
