The following product recall information appeared in Consumer
Reports (August 1987, p507):
Gynex oral contraceptives. Tablets in 28-day-cycle package may
be out of sequence; some tablets in 21-day package may be missing.
Taking tablets out of sequence or skipping tablets can increase
chance of pregnancy.
Products: 315,000 packages sold nationwide since 2/87, labelled
as made and packaged by Corona Pharmaceutical, Corona, Calif., for
G.D. Searle and Co., with lot nos. C33105H6, C33106H6, and C33101X6
(Gynex 1/35E-21); C33101G6, C33102G6, C33101H6, and C33102H6 (Gynex
1/35E-28); C31101J6 (Gynex 0.5/35E-21); C31102G6 and C31101H6 (Gynex
0.5/35E-28).
What to do: Return product to store for refund and consult physician.
