Perhaps the reason people don't enter base notes is that they may
feel uncomfortable or shy about bringing up a subject. The subject
might be a bit close to them emotionally, and they may fear "flames"
which translated into another word could mean "rejection" for some.
Taking a risk isn't easy. Heck, I'm taking a risk entering this
note. But, if I (we?) don't risk, I don't have anything, do anything
and, most of all, I don't learn anything. How can we learn, if
    we don't risk.

Kerry risks. He goes ahead and writes how he feels. He appears
to say, "the heck with what other people think, (and, please note
that i said think, not feel,) it doesn't matter." What matters
is how I feel! He gets flamed and goes right back in and says
more. Sometimes, he's just joking. Sometimes, serious. He risks.
    He learns.

I've been a reader of womannotes and other notes for some time.
I've read topics/replies Kerry has written.

Read between the lines folks, you just might be pleasantly
    surprised......:-)

A basenote, Mr. Kerry "Manners" Faulkner, can be the very easiest
note to write. You don't have to know any answers. You may not
even have to develop any arguments. Some people have been known
to just drop in a flaming basenote, and sit back to enjoy a five-
    alarm blaze.

A regular flow of new basenotes would help keep the conference lively,
though. And lately it looks like Kerry has taken this awesome
    responsibility onto himself.

Maybe we ought to help him out, lest (applying foresight here),
Kerry ends up setting the agenda for these discussions.

> Humans are blessed with a pound of hindsight,
> an not an ounce of foresight.

And if I don't have the foresight to get out of here and exercise, I'm
going to have another pound of hindsight.

    "never" ??

    You're generalizing.

(You can no doubt find someone who writes a lot of responses, and
does not enter basenotes. I can find others who write a lot of
responses and who do enter basenotes. Why engage in this?)

the word generalize was invented for people that can't argue.
