Hi all! I've just found this conference and think its very existence is FANTASTIC !!! As a relatively new "feminist" (I finally took the time to find out that the definition of the word is, essentially, ANYONE who is interested in promoting the interests/concerns of women) I could relate to some of the comments on fears of being labelled a "libber" etc. Where did my/the negative connotations of these two words come from??? A few questions, is it okay to post notices on events happening around Mass. in this note? i.e. political action events, lectures, protests, demonstrations, news briefs of women in the news, laws that impact heavily on women . . . . . . Hope to hear from you all! - Mary

< Sisterhood Is Powerful > Yes, Mary, it's perfectly all right to post event notices. Since most notes in here are on issues, and attract comments, it's quite easy and natural to imagine that *all* postings must be issue-oriented, but that really isn't the case. Informational notes are quite welcome. =maggie | |||||

If the notes you post are only of limited geographic interest, it's helpful to put that in the title of the note. People from who couldn't possibly attend like to be able to hit the "next unseen" key. Holly |
