PBS' Frontline will broadcast a show on an 18-year old who became a
porn movie star.  "Death of a Porn Queen".  On Tuesday, June 9, on
either WGBH (channel 2) or WGBX (channel 44) [I didn't catch which]
in Boston.

    From checking my issue of Dial (their monthly magazine for supporters),
    I find the following schedule:
    
    Channel 2 on Tuesday, June 9 at 9 pm.
    
    Repeated on Channel 2 on June 10 at 11 pm, and on Channel 44 on

    I only know of one death in the porn industry and that was
    an 18 year old named Shauna Grant (industry name?) and she had
    another of which I can't recall, also an industry name.  From what
    I understand, she took a 30-30 and shot her head off.  What struck
    me as bizarre was the fact that I learned this a year later.  I
    guess in Los Angeles it may have made news, maybe even headline
    news, and probably a 3-liner backpage buried article in the rest
    of the country.  I don't present the above as known fact, it is just
    what I read.  The article itself could have been colored.
    
    It was tragic I thought that she was only 18, plus the fact that
    nobody saw the signs (isn't that always the case?).  After reading
    the article, and articles like it, where everyone close to the
    the victim of a suicide, either state they never saw it coming or
    they should have seen between the lines, I always feel like, 
    maybe if I could have had a chance to do everything I could.....

    It is indeed about "Shauna Grant", which was here stage name. I

Her real name was Colleen Applegate.
She was from Farmington, MN.
She died at the age of 20.
She killed herself with a .22 cal. rifle.
The author of the article pans the special, calls it depressing. It was
co-produced by WGBH, Boston and WCCO a CBS affiliate in Minneapolis.
Originally titled "Death of an American Girl", the name was changed by
PBS to "Death of a Porn Queen" ''... in an apparent effort to expand the
audience.''

    If I'm not mistaken, this is the story of a girl from Farmington
    Minnesota who took her own life because she couldn't handle the
    sudden "stardom".
    
    There was a report done here in MN about her life.  Pretty sad.
