327.1 | When do the comedians start? | CADSE::GLIDEWELL | | Fri Jun 05 1987 19:45 | 14 |
| >and entertainment w/performances by...
San Gordon/Sabine Rhyne, Sarah Laughs (formerly Amelia & Jennifer),
Julie Woods, Jo Schreiber, Karla Beety...
and DEC comic... Maggie Thomson.
Are all of these people comics? And what time will the comics come one?
I'm a big comedy fan and I plan to go shopping that day and come to see
the comedians, so I'd appreciate knowing when to show up.
Thanks, Meigs

| Somewhere Else is at 295 Franklin St., Boston, in the financial district
in the general vicinity of the Meridian hotel. Your best bet (from
someone who always drives around confused by the excessive construction
and one-way streets in that area) is to get onto Congress St off the
Expressway (from the north you may need to take High St. to Congress,
right on Congress; from the south I think its Atlantic Ave, left onto
Congress -- lots of construction and confusion here). Go past Franklin
(which is one-way the wrong way at that point), right onto Milk St.,
then right onto Batterymarch St. and right onto Franklin. Park whenever
you can. Somewhere Else is near the corner of Franklin and Batterymarch.
It is rather inconspicuous and not obviously marked, but it does have
an awning and some tacky cedar shingle siding. There is no cover on
Tuesday night.

Sorry, Lisa, for not posting those finer details. You might want
to follow the (gawd-awful) SE expressway to the Callahan Tunnel/Dock
Sq. exit. At the end of that ramp follow the signs to the Aquarium.
(At this point you are driving under the Expressway). Look for
State St. which will be the street after you pass a bar called "Friends
and Company" (I think it's still there). Take a right on State,
pass the Customs House and take a left onto Broad St. Franklin
St. will be down 2 blocks on the right. Since parking can be a
hassle, you may want to try to park on Broad St. and walk over to
"Somewhere Else". Cover charge?? I think it may be $3 or #5.
