210.0. "Daily/weekly/monthly cycles of life ?" by TONTO::EARLY (Bob_the_hiker) Fri Feb 20 1987 12:40
Cycles. Life cycles.
Cycles I can 'identify' are as follows; similiar to biorythms, but
not measureable, per se, to definate periods.
I find myself going through cycles of Introspection, Emotional needs,
Physical expenditures, and 'cultural' needs.
These cycles tend to wax and wane independent of any external
influences, and don't seem to correlate to any bodily function.
On one day, I may feel terribly in need of emotional outlet, feeling
blue, and down. On another I am so exuberant I can hardly contan
myself.
I find "I got to" take a real physically stressful hike (Excercise)
to "reset my clock" (what clock ? But that's what I call it). I
use this clock everyday; a charge which gets recharged periodically
through specific forms of excercise.
Introspectiveness, looking at oneself, and reflecting on what we
see, in terms of what HAVE we acomplished, what is yet left to be
done, and what changes, if any, we'd like to make; to make life
more satisfactory to ourselves.
For example, I am in a 'introspective' HIGH part of the cycle, a
"physical high", but a 'cultural low', and a 'emotional middle'
(middle == neutral). Tomorrow, the day after, this will all change.
Do you find yourself going these 'cycles', where the specific
needs of yourself vary from day to day, but at least in a sort of
cyclic rate, seemingly independent of external influences of bodily
functions ?

| I go through "up" and "down" cycles. But I have a theory that a
person can only go as high as they can low. I.e., people are like
sine curves (from high school trig.) and the person that can get
VERY depressed can also get VERY happy. My husband doesn't get
as depressed as I do sometimes, but he also doesn't get a euphoric.
Anyway, remembering my "theory" helps when I'm down.
