It may differ because Alfred is sane. Considerate, too. He listens. He's
not aggressive. He speaks his mind. He's a human being. I haven't been
around the net (consistently) enough to know (or remember) many Noter's
personalities, but I do remember Alfred, and I'm one of his "fans." And I
probably disagree with some of what he says. I think I'll mosey on over
there...

| i've looked at both notes files now, and have had some private
communications on my question (.1?), so now i have a better idea
of the differences. please don't make this into another warring
note -- we have enough already!
thanks

108.5 | And then there was one... | BETHEL::THOMPSON | Noter of the LoST ARK | Wed Nov 12 1986 12:08 | 5 |
| BTW, the 'other' conferences appears to have been closed. Note
1.4 indicates that it is not likely to re-open. 2B::MENNOTES is
still open for business.

108.7 | Yes there was originally one file . | ZEPPO::MAHLER | An X-SITE-ing position ! | Wed Nov 12 1986 12:46 | 12 |

Yes, you missed a very good file full of, mostly,
honest and serious questions and informational
replies.
The file on ZEPPO is now closed. Please do not access
it any longer.

Am I the only person having trouble accessing this file, ie the
2B:: one? All I get is "Invalid Entry Name".
And isn't this file called womAnnotes? It doesn't mean much
semantically, but it helps if you want to get in. :-)

Interesting that you should point that out (womAnnotes vs mEnnotes).
I was just speculating this morning about whether the different
usage unintentionally models the way men and women stereotypically
see themselves.

| {RE .9 {RE .8}} - Gee, I thought that had less to do with self-image
and more to do with your use of phrases popular in some feminist
circles. (Womansong, womanprose, etc.)

Woman as a word can relate to all women
Man as a word(due in part to the sexist nature of the language) requires
clarification as to whether you refer to the species or the sex within the
species. Subconsiously people react by finding it easier to refer to men to
achieve the equivalent.
Just a thought
